New 22 oz Waxwear Drill Fabric

Our new signature 22 oz drill waxed canvas. The same rugged character of waxed canvas but with a more polished, structured look achieved with a stiffer fabrication. It's all in the wax: by fine-tuning a 100 year old proprietary recipe we created our signature structure, 'hand' and aging characteristics. Waxwear was developed at the turn of the last century by the US Army for soldier's ponchos that converted into tents at night. The original 'technical' fabric! Using no chemicals, only natural cotton and wax, it is the PERFECT fabric for exceptionally long-lasting rugged bags: lightweight, yet extremely strong and durable, water-resistant yet breathable. Our proprietary 'dry finish' is not oily or sticky.

The Phony Pony Collection

Italian milled faux fur fabric, inspired by the classic bay hunter. Developed and fabricated by one of the most renowned fabric mills in the world who produces signature fabrics for many leading brands such as Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Mulberry and others. Luxuriously soft yet wipes clean. Animal-friendly for the conservation minded fashionista.

The Wellie Collection

The Wellie line is inspired by life on the farm and the utilitarian chic of Wellie Boots. Made in Italian premium rubber by one of the oldest fabric mills in the world [famous for its commitment to innovation and long list of luxury brand clients]. Topstitched in extra-thick, creme waxed thread and accented with polished chrome halter square hardware. A very cool gray blue lining that is as impervious as it is beautiful. And topped off with a lime green and polished chrome RiRi zipper.

Bronze Halter Squares

Solid bronze halter squares cast by Italian craftsmen and imported for use on the finest of custom made halters. Bronze halter fittings are the finest available as they will not rust or stain as brass eventually would.

RiRi Zippers

Swiss zipper manufacturer RiRi casts each zipper coil and slider by hand in Switzerland. Known in fashion circles as the Rolls Royce of Zippers, RiRi zippers are superior to any other, both in their day to day feel as well as their longevity. A critical component for bags built to last a lifetime and equally important to have the best for something you touch every day.

A Nod to History

Playful surprise elements like a bold and modern, Newmarket stripe hidden inside a pocket, to delight and surprise every day. The Newmarket blanket was originally used as a layering piece at the namesake British racecourse and has become more than a stripe, evocative of the rich equestrian history and storied past we all love and share... which perfectly resonates with Oughton's long lasting appeal, utility and rugged chicness.

Quality Materials INSIDE and Out

Characteristic of our commitment to quality through and through, our bags are just as well appointed inside as out. Interior materials such as premium nylon linings impervious to wear, interior RiRi zippers, specialty pocket linings, etc., are all equally important in creating a heirloom-quality bag to last several lifetimes.

Zipper Pulls

Emblematic of the thought and craftsmanship that goes into every aspect of every bag, we've designed our zipper pulls with a big loop to make zippers easy to pull, even with gloves on. The signature Oughton zipper pull is crafted of premium bridle leather and embossed with our logo. Lined in our signature orange and piped with creme, it's fashionably oversized but utilitarian with an orange flourish. As a longtime horseshow competitor, I have long known what a difference the details make.
