This is one of my favorite photos. It captures for me the simplicity and elegance of the iconic show halter, a glimmer of brass on a beautifully groomed horse which inspired our nameplate personalization. More than merely identifying your luggage and travel accessories; a personalized nameplate or bridle tag speaks to its equestrian heritage and gives them a distinctly personal character.
HalterPlate Personalization
Nameplate personalization is available for every piece of luggage, bag and accessories. Plating is an additional $45 and 2 weeks lead time. Although most local tack shops can also do this for you, ours is done by a skilled metal smith here in Vermont [just 10 miles from our studio] whose familiar with our standards of perfection, ensuring your nameplate is perfectly centered and leveled and secure for decades.
Personalization
Solid brass halter plates offer a traditional means of customizing your bag. Blissfully free of logos, your Oughton bag is ready for YOUR initials... or full name, sur name, farm name or favorite mount. Bridle Tag
In addition to the option to personalize your bag with a plate, each Oughton bag comes with a bridle tag fob, a discreet way of identification. Solid brass tags are sold separately for $15 [up to 3 lines of lettering] and shipped with "S" hook via USPS direct from engraver [typically within 1 week of order].
Bridle Tag
Our solid brass fancy bridle tags have a slightly beveled edge and lightly oxidized lettering for an elegant look. The cover simply slides upward to reveal a small hole at the end of the leather strap into which the "S" hook that is supplied with every bridle tag is placed.
New! Foil Stamped Initials
New this year, we are offering gold foil stamped initials on select accessories. It is a cost effective (+ $25) and timely (allow 4-5 business days). Initials in gold leaf foil, uppercase, upright script, no periods.
The Wellie Collection
The highly polished silver halter hardware used exclusively for the Wellie Collection is made of solid brass dipped in chrome, hand cast by American craftsmen. Combined with midnight blue Italian rubber it creates a very smart and sophisticated look with traditionally elegant equestrian detailing. The lettering used on chrome plates has no oxidation to provide a very understated, elegant look [shown with Parisian typeface]. A myriad of fonts are available for both halter plates and bridle tags. You'll see these choices under the personalize button on each individual product page.
