Introducing the Oughton LoveList – a monthly column of all things on our radar. This month, we are especially excited about our new bag, the City Lux M. All leather and handmade in Florence (done in the factory that produces for Victoria Beckham, Chanel and others), the City Lux M embodies classic equestrian chic while allowing a statement of personal style via an interchangeable saddle flap closure, which is easily zipped in and out daily, monthly, seasonally…. Combining personalization with luxury fabrication, the City Lux evolves the concept of an ‘it’ bag to a ‘you’ bag. New flap colors will be introduced regularly, allowing customers to curate a great collection of innumerable style combinations. Add a Loro Piana baby cashmere cape, jeans and boots for perfection. I am always looking for ways to transition seamlessly from a meeting to the office and then to the barn with stops at school in between… A deep stack of great skinnies paired with cashmere jackets/capes and moto boots for town are easily switched for a schooling jacket and riding boots at the barn. In the fall, although I am not preparing for indoors, I am as religious about my rides as if I am… Hacking out, in the crisp fall air, over different terrain and grade changes, is such a pleasant way to continue our work and goals from the ring. Back at my desk, after a hectic summer of kids, camps, shows and travel, I love taking command of my schedule with a new Filofax. It makes me feel SO organized. This year it will be blue for sure. At the top of my to do list, is to spray paint – in high gloss – black planters that will sit in gorgeous contrast to our matte black barn. That texture change, from matte to gloss is one of my favorite design approaches and something I try to do with Oughton bags… gloss leather juxtaposed to pertained waxed canvas, etc. I am excited to be able to think about and bring to you a regular column, using content I have bookmarked, clipped, pinned anyway. Stay tuned for LoveList November. Or better yet, sign up for our email newsletter and never miss one. Have a great October y’all!
