Oughton Limited bags are designed by a rider, for riders. They are engineered to last, with the best materials available. At every design juncture quality is the driving factor, not price. We design the best bag we can. We want offer long-lasting value, not another low-cost, disposable item.
Where are these bags made?
They are made in South America where leather working and horses are a way of life. Although we did not find appropriate manufacturing here, we wanted to support American manufacturers to the degree possible, and thus we ship most of the inputs – such as the leather, body fabric and hardware – from the US to South America. This allows us to use classic American fabrics such as Sheltertent brand Waxwear fabric (originally designed for the US Army) and top quality midwest leathers and the best halter hardware we could find. It also allows us to keep tight control over quality.
How do I return an item?
You may return an item – for any reason – within 60 days for a full credit (less shipping) if it is unused and in its original condition. However no bags that have been customized with a halter plate may be returned. To return an item, please fill out the contact us form, including your Order Name, Order Number, Item Returning and Reason for Return. We will issue you an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) # and RMA form that should be printed out and enclosed, with your item, in the returning box. What do I do if my item is damaged or defective?

How do I care for my bags?
Waxed canvas should not be washed, laundered or dry cleaned. Detergents will remove the waxed finish. Periodically simply take a stiff horse brush and briskly brush bag. Or, use water and a stiff brush for more stubborn dirt marks. For stains, use mild soap and water. When left in the sun, wax redistributes and bag will ‘refinish’ itself. Don’t baby your bag – it will look better with age!

Where can I go to see these bags in person?
Oughton Limited will exhibit at a select number of horse shows each year. Although nothing firm yet, the tentative schedule for 2010 is the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington FL for 12 weeks beginning in early January (will post name of boutique soon), perhaps Upperville, Devon and most certainly the 2010 Hampton Classic. However, the best, most immediate way to see them in person is to allow us to send you one and simply return it if you don’t like it.
What if I don't want to pay with a credit card online?
First, we have gone through several steps to ensure the safety and privacy of all information submitted over our website. We are PCI approved and Authorize.net conducts regular scans of our website to ensure it is hacker safe. However, if you prefer, you may certainly pay by check… just send a check and your order will ship when your check clears. At check-out, there is a pay-by-check option. I want to purchase something as a gift, can you enclose a gift card?
Yes! At checkout, there will be instructions to denote that it is a gift in the comments field and to fill in a gift message. For a gift, no invoice is enclosed in the box (invoice will be emailed to you at checkout). An Oughton Limited gift card, with your message handwritten inside, will be strung through the drawstrings of the Oughton Limited dust bag. It’s a nice presentation.
Your credit card and data security is very important. We handle all credit card sales through Stripe and do not have access to your credit card number or other information. We can only credit your credit card, we cannot charge it again. We do not store any credit card data in our offices at all. We pass strict data security scans every year.
When you are not exactly sure which piece would be the perfect gift but want to ensure your gift doesnt get spent on groceries, give a gift card. Email us firstname.lastname@example.org and we can process this for you, and send a gift card to you or directly to the recipient.
